Modern Slavery Statement
Kentish Town Movers Modern Slavery Statement
Kentish Town Movers is committed to conducting all aspects of its business in an ethical and responsible manner. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the actions we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. It applies to all employees, workers, contractors, and suppliers engaged by Kentish Town Movers.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
We have a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking, servitude, and child labour. We expect the same high standards from everyone we work with and will not knowingly engage with any organisation or individual involved in such practices. Any breach of this policy is treated as a serious matter and may result in termination of contracts or working relationships.
All staff are required to act with integrity and to uphold human rights in all business activities. Managers are responsible for promoting a culture where exploitation is never accepted or ignored and where concerns can be raised without fear of retaliation.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Kentish Town Movers provides moving and relocation services, including local and regional transport, packing, storage, and associated logistics. Our supply chains include providers of vehicles, fuel, equipment, packing materials, warehousing, facility services, and labour agencies. We recognise that certain parts of the logistics and temporary labour sectors can be at higher risk of labour exploitation and we are committed to identifying, assessing, and managing these risks in a systematic way.
Supplier Standards and Due Diligence
We expect all suppliers and contractors to uphold human rights, comply with relevant labour laws, and demonstrate clear opposition to modern slavery and human trafficking. Our supplier approval and onboarding processes include due diligence checks that consider a supplier’s labour practices, recruitment methods, and workforce conditions.
Where appropriate, we seek written confirmation from suppliers that they do not use forced, bonded, or involuntary labour and that workers are free to leave employment with reasonable notice. We also encourage suppliers to adopt similar standards with their own supply chains.
Supplier Audits and Monitoring
We carry out proportionate risk-based audits of selected suppliers, focusing on those operating in sectors or geographies considered higher risk for labour exploitation. These audits may include reviewing employment records, examining working conditions, and speaking with workers where practical and appropriate.
If we discover indicators of modern slavery or other serious labour violations, we will investigate, seek remediation, and, where necessary, suspend or terminate the commercial relationship. We are committed to working collaboratively with suppliers willing to improve, while maintaining our zero-tolerance stance on ongoing or deliberate abuses.
Reporting Concerns and Escalation Channels
All employees, agency workers, contractors, and suppliers are encouraged to report any concerns related to modern slavery, human trafficking, or unethical labour practices. Concerns may include suspicious recruitment fees, retention of identity documents, restricted freedom of movement, or signs of coercion or intimidation.
Reports can be made to line managers or senior management. Individuals may raise concerns anonymously if they wish. We will investigate all reports promptly, fairly, and sensitively. No person will suffer detrimental treatment for raising a concern in good faith, even if it is not substantiated following investigation.
Training and Awareness
We provide guidance and information to relevant employees, particularly those involved in procurement, recruitment, and supplier management, so they can recognise indicators of modern slavery and know how to respond. Awareness is reinforced through ongoing communication and the inclusion of ethical conduct in our policies and procedures.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We are committed to continually improving our approach to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking. Each year we review the effectiveness of our policies, risk assessments, due diligence procedures, and supplier audits. Lessons learned are used to strengthen our processes and training.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed and updated annually by the senior management team to ensure it remains relevant, effective, and aligned with applicable legislation and best practice guidance. It reflects our ongoing determination to protect vulnerable individuals, promote fair treatment, and ensure that our business and supply chains are free from modern slavery.
